Unidentified Trilobite Species from the Mckay Fm. Canada

Trilobite

Name: Unidentified Species possibly related to Kendallina
Age: Upper Cambrian
Size: The trilobite is 3/8” in length on a 4 x 4” plate.
Fossil Location: McKay Formation, Cranbrook area, B.C., Canada
Comments: Over the last 5-10 years the Mckay Formation in B.C. has yielded a rich new trilobite fauna. A rare few are incredibly well preserved. This specimen is amongst them. It is one of only three found. The collector believes it may be related to Kendallina, though with shorter genal spines and no furrows on the free cheeks. The research is ongoing, and many of these are not formally identified. I acquired this from the collector and preparator. Its preservation is about as perfect as is possible. Let the photos speak for themselves.

3D Breviphillipsia sampsoni trilobite From Missouri

3D Breviphillipsia sampsoni trilobite from Missouri

Name: Breviphillipsia sampsoni
Order Proetida, Superfamily Proetoidea, Family: Phillipsiidae

Size(25.4mm=1 inch): The trilobite is 18 mm on a 45 x 48 mm plate.
Location: Chouteau Formation, Saline County, Missouri
Comments: By the Carboniferous trilobites, the lone surviving trilobite Order was Proetida, and in a general sense all Carboniferous trilobites are relatively rare. Among these "last of the trilobites" is Breviphillipsia sampsoni from the Mississippian Chouteau Formation in Saline County, Missouri. A defining characteristic of sampsoni is the granulous exoskeleton extending from cephalon to pygidium, as is evident in the close-up pictures.
